As an Orthopaedic Surgeon practicing in South Africa and originally belonging to Gwalior, I received a lot of criticism from my fellow poets in India after my poem on Binayak Sen was published.

I had worked in Chattisgarh and therefore aware of the exploitation of the tribals there.

My few words for Binayak remains as a salute to a colleague who believed in his tenacity to change the life of these people towards a better future.

This is just wonderful but obviously not enough. Binayak is still in prison. Just as the Chileans, the Argentinians, Spaniards and Indians fought for their freedom from dictatorships, we will just have to plod on and on.

Like Binayak said, "choose your politics before politics chooses you." How true!!!

It has been a pleasure going through all of the poems and writings. Rizvi's recitation was brilliant. I cannot stop listening to it, again and again and .... Thank you.
